[Today is quite a weird day for Crona. Normally he doesn't stay out long enough to bump into people, let alone this new thing. It was cloudy today so he thought not too many people would be out, but just in case there were, Crona made it a point to stay in the woods, just barely in sight of the village.

Usually that is enough to go unnoticed, but not today. Not by the animals at least. Crona is easily freaked out by small animals, and makes a pretty loud scream every time one is near him. But that's not his biggest problem. Nope, that would be the tiny little bunny that's trailing him. And while his attention is mostly on that bunny, anyone can hear him nearby, yelling for the thing to go away, and tripping every so often because he's not looking at where he's going.

Eventually he gives in and goes into town, and hops on the edge of the fountain, and even chucking his journal at it (missing of course) but opening, though all that can be heard is 'go away' 'I haven't done anything to you' 'why are you following me' and many other things.

It's just very clear he's scared of a little bunny...]

It does seem drawn to you. Were you sitting on the gross or on anything that might appeal to it?

[Perhaps it's the scent of food that's having that effect...]

[He's fairly certain bunnies don't care about trees, right?]

I wonder if it was the scent of leaves that drew the rabbit to you.

[Either way, she's holding the rabbit fairly still. It helps that she knows how to project calm when she wants to, and is generally only intimidating when she's actually trying to be.]

It's unusual that a rabbit would be drawn to a person. Even a quieter person like yourself.

I don't know either...it just started following me.

[He might be a little less freaked out if he know why, but the bunny doesn't say a darn thing.]

Have you had experiences like this in the past? Sometimes animals are more comfortable around quieter people...

[She knows that much from personal experience.]

[Bunnies aren't exactly predatory...]

[He just lowers his head at that. How can he tell that he was made to kill little bunnies when he was young. He's already weird enough without giving out that information.]

I will not judge you, Crona. I just want to understand.

[How can she judge people? She's done enough awful things as a ninja that there are very few she's in a position to be judgmental of.]

[Then he'll only say it once, and very quietly.]

...My mom made me kill them when I was little...

[Konan's eyes widen a bit at that, though she otherwise shows no reaction. It's horrifying, but Crona isn't the one she's judging here.]

Were they being used as a source of food?

[Some of the papers she'd been keeping tucked away in her loose clothing come out and form a basket, which she places the rabbit in. The small furry animal floats along in the basket until she has the chance to dump the rabbit gently out near the forest.]

No...it was to make me stronger.

[Don't mind him watching that. He is both confused and amazed by that random basket.]

Stronger? As in speed training, or...?

[For speed and stealth, she could understand at least training a child to catch rabbits. If food was scarce, they could be used for that, too. She's got the sickening feeling that it probably wasn't for any reason so utilitarian as all of that, though.]

To...make sure I got used to killing things.

[Y'know, when it's all said out loud, even Crona gets just how wrong it is...]

[That was exactly the kind of response she'd been dreading.]

[The paper basket unmakes itself and the papers flutter back into Konan's clothing now that the rabbit has run off into the forest.]

I was taught how to kill as a child as well, but I lived in a war-torn country.

I was supposed to turn into a Kishin...but I don't have the soul for it.

[Somehow he's never completely lost it.]

What is a Kishin?

A demon god.

It sounds as if she was trying to kill the kindness inside of you.

[It's not even a question. If Crona's mother wanted him to be a demon god, then her goal likely wouldn't succeed if he had compassion for living things. What better to quell feelings like those than to make him repeatedly kill gentle animals who were much weaker than him? It's horrifying but she can see the logic behind the madness.]

It's also why she put Ragnarok in me.

[Saying all this out loud makes him notice just how creepy his life really is, and just how different...]

Ragnarok?

[It's hard for Konan to tell if that's a being or a thing. She wonders if Ragnarok might be something like the tailed beasts of her world.]

A demon sword. He's why my blood is black... and why she thought I could be a Kishin...

Ragnarok is a sentient sword, then?

[She's wondering if Ragnarok is something like Kisame's Samehada, only compact enough to fit inside a person - and one as slim as Crona, yet.]

I...don't know what that means...Usually he can come out of my back in a human form, but he can't here...now I can hear him in my head, and when he's in sword form.

[Size doesn't matter with this one. It's just his blood really.]
