Third Drop ❂ Voice / Action

[The voice you hear over the journals is quiet, and slow.. Quiet enough that it almost sounds like he doesn't want to be heard, and slow enough that it sounds like he doen't even want an answer. But, curious enough that he wants answers.]

I have...two questions...

...How do people make friends? A-and how does someone not scare people away if they are just telling the truth?

[Once that is done and over with, Crona places his journal facing away from him. He's not sure if he wants the answers. But for the first time, he can be seen sitting in plain view of anybody out near the middle of the village. It's taken him quiet a while to stop hiding from anything that moves, and he doesn't like being completely alone anymore.

But that doesn't stop him from drawing circles on the ground with a stick. One around him, one around the journal, then other small ones because he has nothing better to do. No actual drawings come out of this, but he is pleased with himself.]

Because...it is? [How do you explain if something is scary or not? He just knows that he's freaked a few people out with it.]

[Suddenly, this conversation is going nowhere fast.]

[Well, Crona does suck at conversations.]

Oh.

[And Grune isn't exactly fantastic at them, either.]

Well, that's all right. I'd still love to be your friend.

...But you've just met me.

That's all right. Learning more about each other is part of being friends.

[He should be able to just hear the smile in her voice.]

I thought you had to know someone before being friends.

Oh, no. You can be friends with whoever you want.

...Really?

Yes, that's right. It doesn't matter who they are--everyone can be a friend.

[Even, apparently, people who have tried to kill you. Like, say, Mithos.]

What if they're mean?

That means they need a friend even more. They need someone to show them that it's better to be nice, not mean.

But mean people don't listen all the time...

It's all right. I'm sure they'll be happy to have a friend someday.

But how can you be someone's friend if they don't want a friend?

Well, you can just be kind to them and maybe someday they'll change their mind. And even if they don't, it's still good to be nice to people.

That makes sense.

So that's why it's important to be friendly with everyone. Because you never know who's going to be your friend.

So you should make sure to ask lots and lots of people to be your friends, all right?
