[The voice you hear over the journals is quiet, and slow.. Quiet enough that it almost sounds like he doesn't want to be heard, and slow enough that it sounds like he doen't even want an answer. But, curious enough that he wants answers.]

I have...two questions...

...How do people make friends? A-and how does someone not scare people away if they are just telling the truth?


[Once that is done and over with, Crona places his journal facing away from him. He's not sure if he wants the answers. But for the first time, he can be seen sitting in plain view of anybody out near the middle of the village. It's taken him quiet a while to stop hiding from anything that moves, and he doesn't like being completely alone anymore.

But that doesn't stop him from drawing circles on the ground with a stick. One around him, one around the journal, then other small ones because he has nothing better to do. No actual drawings come out of this, but he is pleased with himself.]

Would you care to? I can teach you an array of musical instruments if that is what you desire.

...Musical instruments? [This is said in a way closer to 'what are those??']

A musical instrument can be of various devices or contrivances that can be used to produce musical tones or sounds.
The combination of these musical tones are played in a certain pattern to produce a pleasing sound.

What are your thoughts to trying out such a device?

Are they hard to learn?

Like most things, it will require a certain amount of concentration and discipline... however, the reward far outweighs the work that it will require of you.

I don't have anything to do right now. [Or ever, but still.]

Very well, where would you care to meet?

...I'm close to that fountain.

Very well, I will meet you there momentarily... [The screen goes blank, and Spock makes his way to the fountain...

... When he gets there he spots Crona and bows his head in greeting.]

Greetings, it is well to meet you in person. I suggest that we make a schedule in which we can adhere to... however, first you much choose an instrument. Have you any in mind?

[Well, don't mind is demeanor instantly changing when he gets close. He just stares at the ground...]

I don't know about any.

[Spock carefully, and gently sits beside Crona.... sensing that this needed to be handled with care.
He pulled from his messenger bag a PADD and switched it on. With a few quick finger taps, he pulled up onto the screen various instruments.]

These are what I can teach you.... [Spock tilted the screen so that Crona could see:

Vulcan Harp
Guitar
Piano
Tin Whistle
Bodhran
And variations of those instruments...

Do any of these strike your interest?

[He was going to move away a little, until he saw those instruments. He just stares at the screen for a while, but before he points to one-]

...What do they sound like?

[Spock nods and taps on the screen again... the images go through various sound files, giving a short demonstration of what each instrument sounds like.
The Vulcan lyre is last, and its haunting melody flows through the air...

Is that sufficient? [Spock's voice is sincere and gentle... he finds that he does not want to scare this young individual.]

[Well, it's really his first time he's gotten to listen to music, so there's almost smiles when listening. But the lyre is the one he points to.]

That one.

[Spock gives Crona a half-smile... but he would never admit that he was 'happy' with that choice.]

Very well. I will need to make one for you.... so it will take some time. However, I will contact you as soon as I am finished. Is this satisfactory?

[Crona can't help but choose the gloomy sounding one. Though hearing that, he looks worried.]

...You have to make it?

[spohkh]

Indeed, though it is no trouble... [Spock hesitated for a moment... perhaps something he did as a youth on Vulcan he could apply here...]

Perhaps though, you would be inclined to help me build it? There was...a tradition on Vulcan where the student was required to build their instrument in order to understand every aspect and component. [Spock observes Crona... wondering what decision he might make...]

...I don't think I could...I've never built anything before. [Not really a 'no', but he's never made anything, and that looks really hard.]

You will...never know until you try.

With my assistance, it will not be difficult. I will guide you.


... [Spock hesitates for a moment...]

That is what friends do...

I'm not trying. Really!

[Give him a moment to think about it...he really does need something to do though..]

[Spock places his PADD back into his messenger bag, and turns his attention once more to Crona...]

It will take some time to gather the materials. Shall I contact you when everything is prepared?

[He'll just nod then. Not much else he can do is there?]

I would give him a hug if it wouldn't be so incredibly ooc. Xd haha

[Spock nods in return and stands.]
