[The voice you hear over the journals is quiet, and slow.. Quiet enough that it almost sounds like he doesn't want to be heard, and slow enough that it sounds like he doen't even want an answer. But, curious enough that he wants answers.]

I have...two questions...

...How do people make friends? A-and how does someone not scare people away if they are just telling the truth?

[Once that is done and over with, Crona places his journal facing away from him. He's not sure if he wants the answers. But for the first time, he can be seen sitting in plain view of anybody out near the middle of the village. It's taken him quiet a while to stop hiding from anything that moves, and he doesn't like being completely alone anymore.

But that doesn't stop him from drawing circles on the ground with a stick. One around him, one around the journal, then other small ones because he has nothing better to do. No actual drawings come out of this, but he is pleased with himself.]

A few people have given me good ideas.

I've only been here for a few months.

A few months...Yeah, I don't think I had many friends until I'd been here for a couple months either. Oh, But I'm sure you'll make lots of friends in no time, especially with people helping you out!

Oh! Um! W-We can be friends, too, if you want! Um, you can call me Pils!

Is it normal for people to say they'll just be your friend? That's happened a few times. [And it's very odd to him.]

...My name is Crona.

[It really isn't, but she knows first hand that it's possible. Besides, she doesn't want him to feel like anyone is pitying him or something.]

It's not all that common, but it totally happens! I mean, it can take a while for most people, but some people just like to make lots of friends! So sometimes they just ask!

Crona...Huh. That's kind of a cool name...

So it's just sort of normal... [Pity never came to his mind. Just confusion.]

Cool..?

Yeah! I guess that kind of thing really just depends on the kind of person you are.

And yeah! It's totally a cool name! It even sounds cool just to say..."Crona!" I mean, it just sounds like, really nice.

[She lets out a sheepish little laugh. Hopefully, that wasn't weird to say.]

[It is a tad bit weird. He doesn't know how to respond to such a thing..]

...I thought it was just a normal sounding name...

O-oh...I guess maybe it's a regular name where you come from, huh? I'd never heard it before so...Aw, gee, I'm sorry! I'm not like, really weird or anything! Like, I promise!

[She lets out another round of nervous laughter. She seems to make making more bad first impressions than usual these days...]

You don't sound really weird.

[Compared to him, no one is really all that weird.]

That's a relief...

Oh! Hey! If you want to make friends, there's always the school! I mean, there's the homework and all that kind of boring stuff, but there's lots of people to meet!

There's to many people at schools.

Maybe you could sign up for one of the optional classes. That way you could meet more people, but you wouldn't have to like, be around so many people for as much time!

Oh oh! Or like, maybe try meeting your neighbors? I mean, it would probably be good to get to know anyone who lives close to you.

But there's still a lot of people...

I don't have any neighbors. [He made sure of that.]

No neighbors either?

[No friends, no neighbors...She's really starting to feel bad for Crona.]

So the problem is too many people...Okay! So you should hang out with small groups of people first! Then you can start being around groups that are a little bigger and then a little bigger than that... Then after a while, you'll get totally used to it!

But...how do I find things like that?

Um...Oh! Okay! Maybe sometime you and I can hang out together! And I'll introduce you to some of my friends sometime!

Because like, when you meet people, you end up meeting some of their friends, right? And then you meet their friends' friends and soon you end up being around lots of people like it's no big deal!

Oh...okay. [Kind of. The meeting people in person is still the hard part.]
