Eighth Drop ❂ Video / Action

[Today Crona is trying to be normal, and take the advice of a few people. And it looks like he's going to say something for the first few moments....but then he takes a deep breath, and just stares at the book, not even realizing that the video function is on. He's really trying hard to say what he means...He does that a few more times, with his eyes going everywhere, until he takes one last smal breath before he starts talking pretty fast.]

I was told that a lot of people have hobbies here...And I was wondering if...if I could learn some. Any ones would be nice.

[And it cuts off rather quickly. He's never had to ask people something like that, and he doesn't have any way to deal with it.

Though a little later when he's not so freaked out when people start talking to him, he's finally doing the last thing on his list...Taking out Ragnarok at the edge of the village. Crona doesn't want to go inside, so it is really going to b e the best Ragnarok will get.

Crona can be found there, holding a long sword in an awkward mannor. Probably in a position that would leave cuts on anybody else. He lets the sword yell and complain about everything, which is much less painful than in his head, and anybody that approaches crona will be on high alert, and shushing the sword so everything looks...relatively normal...or partly. The sword does have a large mouth on it....

This is Crona's normal day.

[Crona may be practising alone, but that's going to change in a moment.

There's a quiet rustling sound in the underbrush near by, as a thin man in a lab coat steps over from one of the houses near the edge of the forest. He's obviously been drawn here by the sound of the shouting voice, though he stands oddly far away as though he is nervous of crossing some invisible barrier.]

A-Ah... salutations...? [It seems like he isn't sure who to address: the sword, or the person holding it.]

[Crona was completely not suspecting someone to come near him, let alone come out of the woods, so his first instinct is to fumble with his sword, before trying to hide it's mouth against him, to try and muffle it.

Next is to find the person, but he's jump enough to just look back and forth too quickly..]

H-hello?

[It's okay, Crona. You don't have to muffle your talkative sword.

Realizing that the small, pink-haired person cannot see him, Robert advances further into the tangle of undergrowth before stopping, still at an unusually-far distance. It's clear he's a little nervous...]

Are... are you qu-quite alright...? There was, er, a d-distinct commotion here, and... I thought, p-perhaps, that there might have been an i-issue of some sort...

[But no one this far has talked to Ragnarok, and since it seems like he was noticed, there is no way he's even letting Crona try to put him away.

Doesn't stop him from holding the sword so closely though, even if this new person is staying a nice distance away. He's actually quite used to people doing that!]

Y-yes, I'm sorry. Ragnarok is just yelling at things today.

I-Is there a reason your companion was... so e-exuberant?

[The yelling-weapon thing doesn't really phase Robert. It's more... wondering why it was yelling, really.]

[It officially feels very weird for Crona to talk about Ragnarok...he's been quiet about it for too long.]

He's...He's always mad at something, and he's only out because he was giving me a headache...

I s-see... [Another glance, sword-ward. Robert's curious expression holds no trace of ill will, though; indeed, he just seems like he wants to study the sword.]

That is... c-certainly fascinating, though I am... s-surprised by a sapient weapon, I must c-confess...

[At that, Crona can't help but look completely confused. Most people are afraid of talking swords, even in his world. (But that's mostly blamed on Excalibur) But Ragnarok is kinda scary..]

...You're not scared by him..?

[A brief hesitation, and then:] ... Surely he is... n-no more dangerous than any other s-sword...?

[Not something he'd want to cuddle, at any rate. But not inherently deadly just... being there and yelling.]

There's a few things he can do without me... [Any of the sound attacks, really..]

... Ah. [Perhaps Robert ought to reconsider. Still, Ragnarok doesn't seem inclined to harm him...]

... Is he... p-predisposed to violence...? [Though the man doesn't step away, he does regard Ragnarok with something more akin to fear, now. ~~Should this scientist be worried he'll be getting one of those attacks to the face, now?~~]

[There's going to be muffled yelling, sounding a bit like he's saying 'let me show him', or 'Come one, you're horrible at explaining things'...And it sounds angry, which iis why Crona only holds him tighter, and tells him to shush.]

...Very...He's a demon sword.

[By now, Robert has become aware of what words like "demon" are supposed to mean. He has even seen things first-hand that have been described as such... but, despite himself, he finds himself more fascinated than fearful.]

How exactly does the t-term 'demon' apply to a s-sword...? Is he perhaps an inorganic s-sapient being? [Most of the demons he's met have not been inorganic, so this is especially interesting, enough so to make Robert step forward a little more. Still nervous, but curiosity is winning out.]

[Crona will just look down as he thinks about this. He doesn't even look up when talking now.]

He's...evil, and was supposed to help me become a ki-[Nope, people don't know that word here.] demon god, but I couldn't.

[And the next part he whispers, a bit towards Ragnarok.] Now I'm stuck with a sword inside me, and black blood...

...

Black b-blood...? [Yes, out of all that, this is what the biologist reacts to.

... Well, until the rest registers.] And... i-inside you...? He does not seem to be... e-embedded in any organs of yours... [Sorry Crona. Robert is as literal as they come.]

[Oh that's normal. He says he has black blood quite a lot here.

But at the next set of questions, he actually gives Robert a bit of a strange look.] No...he's in my blood...

[Okay, now you've officially lost him, Crona.]

In your... blood...? [The confusion in Robert's voice is so palpable you can almost feel it.] H-How, exactly...?

...Like... [Well Crona will just show him. He'll slice one of his fingers with the sword, and let a few drops land on the floor. And a few moments later they form a spike pointed right at Robert.]

[This is so unexpected that Robert's completely taken aback, poised somewhere between trying to stop him and just staring - but when the blood solidifies into a physical object, he can't help but be completely and totally blown away.]

...

... [Some insane part of him wants to touch this spike, or look at it under his microscope to see what it is. The rest is more than a little nervous.]

And... a-all your blood... could spontaneously solidify at... any m-moment...?

[That's a pretty normal reaction, and one Crona expected too. And since it's made it's point, it goes completely liquid again, only a few drops on the ground.

He also might notice that Crona's finger is no longer bleeding as well.]

Yes...it's usually used to stop anything from going deeper than my skin.

Is it... a r-reflex you control? [Half to himself:] Protein matrices...? P-Perhaps a coagulating agent...? Or perhaps alternative biochemistry...

[Maybe he seems too excited about this, even if he's still genuinely worried about the health of the little being in front of him. Surely it can't be healthy for one's organs if one's blood can solidify at any moment!]

[All of that is very, very confusing. And it takes him a few moments to figure out what to even say.]

...Ragnarok does it. He says he only does that so I won't die, because if I do, so does he.

[Crona has never even thought how it has effected his body...maybe that's why he's so skinny, and can bend in weird ways...]

... Ah... a s-symbiotic partnership. [He nods, as if understanding this, at least in part.]

Is the... s-sword part of Ragnarok's body... a separate e-entity? Or... is there a connection? [He knows magical physics are common in other universes, but he still has trouble thinking of them before any other explanation.]

[He's never had to think of all this...and it's kinda hard to word it right...]

Back home he can come out...of my back, and has a sort of human form...the sword is the only time he's not completely attached to me, but he always has control over my blood...

What a f-fascinating circumstance... and you are n-not suffering any discomfort as a result...?

[It just seems like it would be unusual for this to happen to a hominid. However, looks can be deceiving - many hominids are much different from Terran Homo sapiens sapiens, Robert has found.]
