Ninth Drop ❂ Accidental Voice / Action

I've been here a whole year now...

...I feel like I should've done something, but I'm still so used to being inside, or having someone tell me what to do.. I'm only doing good at being quiet. I don't know why I'm here, I'm not a very interesting person to watch. I just stay inside all the time. I just started learning how to make shapes with paper...

If it's my black blood, they aren't doing anything with it...Only I can use it.


[After saying that, the boy has no choice, he should go outside. He'll walk around town, actually managing not to try and stay as far away from a person as possible. No, today he's walking around like everybody else, he even has his head up...just enough to see, and make sure he doesn't walk into a tree. But, walking around like that for too long isn't something he can manage.

Instead he makes his way to a bridge, and sits at the edge of the water....and starts setting little paper boats into the water, and watch them go. It may not be the most interesting thing in the world, but Crona looked decently pleased that those little boats aren't sinking, and it would seem like he found one hobby he's good at.]

[Since Eley spends a lot of time by the rivers, it's possibly not surprising that he spots these little paper boats drifting along in the water. Curious as he was, he decides to walk further up to try and find the source. They were rather pretty little things to watch and he would be quite interested in meeting their maker.

When he reaches the next bridge, he comes across someone planting them in the water there. The Wind Spirit can't help but want to ask about them, so he approaches the stranger.]

You are the one who made these boats? For what purpose?

[It takes a lot for Crona not to get too uncomfortable with a person he doesn't know, but he does manage to look up at him.]

Yes...I just learned how to make them, and...and I thought this would be better than not doing anything with them.

[Luckily for him, Eley isn't a particularly pushy person either. He'll give him space if he deems it necessary. However he's also prone to asking a lot of questions... he'd hope they can stay near each other enough to talk to each other for a while.

The Spirit looks down at the river again.]

My people were also fond of making things from paper... I spotted them further down the river and it reminded me of home.

[He pauses, thinking for a moment.]

Perhaps... you could teach me?

[There will be so many questions. Crona doesn't know too many things..]


So other people know how to do it.

[An almost question. He does look slightly happier, knowing he picked something other people do.]

[And Eley's still learning... though it would probably inspire him rather a lot to be the one showing someone else how to do something for a change.

At the moment though, he's still wondering about this boat building. He gives a nod and comes to sit down on the bank beside Crona.]

They created many things from birds to lanterns, or kites and paper planes. Often they were simple toys for amusement, but occasionally a design became symbolic instead.

[He tilts his head slightly at that near question.]

Is that a problem? Are they complicated to make?

[Crona just tenses up a bit when he's sat next to. He can't help it, but he's learned to keep it hidden just as well.]

I saw some of those things in the book I got...but I didn't know they were symbolic.

[The book didn't tell him that. Now there's something else to learn about.]

[Tenenbaum is walking by when she sees the child she remembers from an earlier post. She walks over with a small smile.]

Those are fine boats.

[Oh good, a person he's talked to before. He isn't so awkward now.]

Yes...it was an easy hobby to learn.

[Konan is upstream from where Crona is, but she sees his little paper boats and decides on a little surprise. Moments later, a few little paper swans and ducks come swimming up near the boats he made.

She'll announce her presence after seeing how he reacts to the new additions in the water.]

[Well now, that is something he didn't expect. All he can do is pick up one of the swans, and look around for it's maker.]

[Konan approaches with a slight smile on her face. She's been in a more sociable mood ever since that shift.]

Do you like it, Crona?

[He just nods as he looks it over.]

It's pretty...and looks hard to make.

It's not really that hard once you know how. I've been into origami since I was a child.

[It is nice to see that Crona has discovered something he likes to make, though.]

[He'll look back at his boat, then to her swan.]

It must be hard to learn these.

[ So, here's Kakashi just hanging out by the water, reading a book, when, out of the corner of his eye, he notices a few little objects moving. Glancing over the edge of the book, he realizes that there's a few little paper boats slowly floating across the surface. Closer examination reveals a... (boy? girl?) not too far away, setting more down and letting them sail.

They aren't moving very fast though.

Maybe Kakashi can give them a small push. It's a slow, lazy day, anyway, and he might as well give them both a bit of quiet entertainment.

Flicking his fingers through some seals, he presses his fingertips to the surface of the water and activates a D-rank water jutsu that just pushes the water around, causing the boats to start moving with more purpose. ]

[That's...different. Crona was pretty sure the stream wasn't going faster all of a sudden. But to check, he puts his own hand in the water to check, and right there it's the same speed as before.

So water suddenly makes no sense to him.

He'll look around until he spots Kakashi...with his hand in the water? All Crona can do is tilt his head to the side, and wonder if he's checking to see why the water is going faster too.]

[ When the kid looks up at him questioningly, Kakashi lets his eye curl into a perfect arc of a smile and he lifts his hand out of the water, wiggling his fingers in a sort of wave to say hello. And then he nods at one of the boats, then folds his fingers into a ram seal, sending a small current of water at the boat, which propels it to sail forward, and then around the boat in front of it. ]

[Crona was just about to wave back, but instead jumps when he sees what happens to the boat. So his stare goes between the boat, the water, and Kakashi. The water can't do that, and the boat was just supposed to go straight, so in the end he just stares at Kakashi with an almost freaked out look.]

M-magic?

[He's still not very good around people that can use magic. It reminds him of home, where usually only witches use magic.]

Not magic. Ninjutsu.

[ Kakashi corrects, voice carrying easily upstream to the kid. It's a quiet day, with only the occasional bird chirping, so it's easy to have a conversation like this, sitting on opposite sides of a stream with some boats drifting past. ]

Magic doesn't exist where I'm from.

[ From the kid's expression, and the way he (she?) said the word "magic," Kakashi more or less infers that they probably didn't have the best experience with it. ]

You're the first one to have a character confused! \o/

...What's ninjutsu?

[Well the correction doesn't make him feel much better. Ninjutsu could be almost like magic, for all he knew...It just makes him curl up in a ball, and hug his knees.]

[Rue isn't very busy, ever, in this place. As long as she isn't chasing after her wayward boyfriend, she has time for other sad wayward boys too. Like this one.

She only stops because she remembers him, the boy who couldn't even manage a library. Standing there on the bridge and looking down, she taps one foot against the wooden rail.]
